393 Honoring 4-H Volunteer and Members



Honoring 4H Members and Volunteers


WHEREAS, 4-H is a nationwide, non-formal education program led by state land-grant universities through cooperative extension offices, volunteers, and members who are committed to making the best better; and


WHEREAS, 4-H inspires members to pledge their heads to clearer thinking, hearts to greater loyalty, hands to larger service, and health to better living for their club, community, country, and world; and


WHEREAS, Warren County Pennsylvania 4-H program now as 50 plus volunteers, and over 300 members; and


WHEREAS, 4-H remains an investment in youth – the greatest resource of our communities – spurring members and their families to make worthwhile contributions to the citizens of Pennsylvania and this nation; and


WHEREAS, the program addresses issues facing youth wherever they live and challenges them to learn by doing while building self-esteem and focusing on critical issues; and


WHEREAS, through more than a century of existence, Pennsylvania’s 4-H program has reached hundreds of thousands of youth through educational and developmental programs that have contributed significantly to the quality of life for these young people and their families; and


WHEREAS, by empowering members to make the best better, 4-H effectively shapes the youth of today into the leaders of tomorrow.


THEREFORE, in recognition and commendation of 4-H for its continuing service to the residents of this county, we the Commissioners of Warren County do hereby commend and encourage all citizens to celebrate the contributions of members, leaders, and volunteers and their commitment to the future of Pennsylvania agriculture.
